Hong Kong Mahjong Master is an addictive online version of the classic MahJong game, especially with Hong Kong-style rules. Developed by Casen Chan, Oscar Chung, and Leslie Ng through a computer game design course at the University of Hong Kong, it offers the perfect mix of tradition and new age gaming. The game was woven around the rich cultural heritage of MahJong, simultaneously staying true to its emphasis on accuracy and fun.
In principle, if you are familiar with basic MahJong, playing the Hong Kong Mahjong Master is quite easy. One must clear the board by matching tiles in sets and pairs. Initially, you are presented with a layout of tiles and have to find two matching tiles to remove from the board. Note: You can only pair and match tiles which are exposed with at least one side open. This puts the player to a test on strategy and memory of moves to clear the board with fewer steps.
Hong Kong Mahjong Master was developed through the COMP 3329 Computer Game Design and Programming course at the University of Hong Kong. Created by Casen Chan, Oscar Chung, and Leslie Ng as a project to demonstrate their capacity and knowledge of game development, it was launched on the 22nd April 2024 and soon became very popular, with players appreciating its authentic gameplay and ease of use.
While the game was designed with mobile screens in mind, there's a way to truly enhance your experience on the laptop. For the optimum view, just open the game link in the laptop browser and zoom up to 175%. This way, you will have a gorgeous view and smooth gameplay, enabling you to dig deep into the world of Hong Kong Mahjong.
Hong Kong Mahjong Master has been developed by a trio of talented students from the University of Hong Kong: Casen Chan, Oscar Chung, and Leslie Ng. The creative efforts of these young enthusiasts in design and programming are evident in this engaging and elegant game.
This game is designed strictly online and is supposed to work on multiple platforms. The game, although catered for mobile screen users, creates a far more immersive experience on laptops and desktops; this can be further enhanced if you could scroll to an optimal zoom level.
